The original book used for scanning contained directories of Hampshire & The Isle of Wight and Wiltshire as well as Dorsetshire. The size has meant that it was necessary to publish the three counties separately.
All of the advertisements in the original book have been included in the publication.
The map of Dorset has survived and has been scanned 200 dpi.
Other than the map and advertisements the directory contains: Indexes; Dorsetshire Information; Towns and Villages Directory; Private Residents Directory; Trades & Professional Directory.
Some of the scanned pages appear not to be straight. This is a feature of the original book rather than the scanning process.
Some pages appear to be clipped. This is a result of having to angle them to compensate for skewed print.
