Product Description
This download for the Kelly's 1895 Directory contains nearly 550 pages, 52 of these are an interesting array of adverts for various types of businesses. Unusually the map has survived and we have included it in the download, unfortunatly there is a small rip between the areas of Pewsey and Wexcombe.
Trade directories have always been an excellent source for tracing businesses and professions, however from the mid-nineteenth century a seporate Court section was included which lists private residential addresses. At this time it was very selective and only included the "top citizens" for the area. The directory comprises of an introduction to the county, giving details of the Magistrates and geology of Wiltshire. Also Towns & Villages directory (Alphabetically listed); Trades directory (Alphabetically listed); and as mentioned the Court directory (Alphabetically listed).
